About “Hacienda Wabi” by RA! — 1st Caribbean International Architecture Biennial 2025 (Silver Medal · Multifamily Housing)
RA! has been awarded the Silver Medal in the Multifamily Housing category at the 1st Caribbean International Architecture Biennial – Quintana Roo, Mexico 2025, organized by the Pan American Federation of Associations of Architects (FPAA).
Held under the theme “Uniting the Caribbean through Architecture,” this biennial celebrates works, research, and publications that promote identity, sustainability, and cultural diversity across the region.
Hacienda Wabi, developed for NAMUS, is a 15-unit residential ensemble in Tulum that layers terraces and ascending stairways to create a living architecture in dialogue with its tropical setting. A fragmented central courtyard connects levels to the pool and shared spaces, while a stone plinth and Chukum finishes allow vegetation to merge with the built form, blurring boundaries between architecture and landscape.
This Silver Medal acknowledges RA!’s commitment to an architecture that harmonizes context and form—sensitive, sculptural, and deeply rooted in place.
Sobre “Hacienda Wabi” de RA! — 1ª Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura del Caribe 2025 (Medalla de Plata · Vivienda Multifamiliar)
RA! fue galardonado con la Medalla de Plata en la categoría de Vivienda Multifamiliar en la 1ª Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura del Caribe – Quintana Roo, México 2025, organizada por la Federación Panamericana de Asociaciones de Arquitectos (FPAA).
Bajo el lema “Unimos el Caribe a través de la arquitectura”, esta bienal celebra obras, investigaciones y publicaciones que promueven la identidad, la sostenibilidad y la diversidad cultural en la región.
Hacienda Wabi, desarrollada para NAMUS, es un conjunto residencial de 15 unidades en Tulum que apila terrazas y escaleras ascendentes para generar una arquitectura viva, en diálogo con su entorno tropical. Un patio central fragmentado vincula los niveles con la alberca y las áreas comunes, mientras un basamento de piedra y acabados en Chukum permiten que la vegetación se funda con la edificación, desdibujando los límites entre arquitectura y paisaje.
Esta Medalla de Plata reconoce el compromiso de RA! con una arquitectura que armoniza contexto y forma: sensible, escultórica y profundamente arraigada al lugar.
