About "Casa LL" - 1st Place, Private Competition
In 2024, RA! won a private competition to design Casa LL, located at the foot of the Tepozteco mountain in Tepoztlán. The competition was held among four architecture firms from Mexico City, with RA! emerging as the winner based on their unique approach to blending modern architecture with the natural landscape.
The clients, who would inhabit the house, sought a design that would integrate seamlessly with the mountain and offer both private and communal spaces. RA!’s design stood out for its geometric composition, with fragmented volumes that create dynamic, open spaces while preserving the privacy of the home.
One of the clients shared, "RA! understood exactly what we wanted: a house that feels connected to the land, yet offers the modern comforts we need." The design allows for expansive views of the mountains while maintaining a sense of intimacy inside, with an emphasis on natural materials and light.
The jury praised RA! for their thoughtful approach to the site and the integration of the natural surroundings. "The design shows an excellent balance between the ruggedness of the landscape and the elegance of contemporary architecture," said one of the jurors. Another juror highlighted the use of space, commenting, "The way RA! fragmented the volumes creates a fascinating rhythm, leading to a house that feels alive and ever-changing with the light and landscape."
The house, now completed, features a layout that opens to the natural surroundings, creating a balance between the rugged terrain and the client’s desire for a contemporary home. RA!’s design was appreciated for its responsiveness to the location, creating a living space that feels both grounded and expansive.
Sobre "Casa LL" - 1er Lugar, Concurso Privado
En 2024, RA! ganó un concurso privado para el diseño de Casa LL, ubicada a los pies del Tepozteco en Tepoztlán. El concurso reunió a cuatro despachos de arquitectura de la Ciudad de México, y RA! fue seleccionado como el ganador por su enfoque único de combinar la arquitectura moderna con el paisaje natural.
Los clientes, quienes habitarían la casa, buscaban un diseño que se integrara perfectamente con la montaña y ofreciera tanto espacios privados como comunes. El diseño de RA! destacó por su composición geométrica, con volúmenes fragmentados que crean espacios abiertos y dinámicos, manteniendo al mismo tiempo la privacidad de la vivienda.
Uno de los clientes comentó: "RA! entendió exactamente lo que queríamos: una casa que se sintiera conectada con la tierra, pero que al mismo tiempo ofreciera las comodidades modernas que necesitamos." El diseño permite vistas amplias de las montañas mientras mantiene una sensación de intimidad en el interior, con énfasis en materiales y luz natural.
El jurado elogió a RA! por su enfoque reflexivo hacia el sitio y la integración del entorno natural. "El diseño muestra un excelente equilibrio entre la rudeza del paisaje y la elegancia de la arquitectura contemporánea", comentó uno de los jurados. Otro jurado destacó el uso del espacio, señalando: "La forma en que RA! fragmentó los volúmenes crea un ritmo fascinante, dando lugar a una casa que se siente viva y siempre cambiante con la luz y el paisaje."
La casa, ya terminada, presenta una distribución que se abre al entorno natural, creando un equilibrio entre el terreno agreste y el deseo de los clientes por una vivienda contemporánea. El diseño de RA! fue muy apreciado por su capacidad para responder al contexto, creando un espacio de vida que se siente tanto conectado al terreno como expansivo.
