About "Cuna Cozumel"
Immersed in the lush jungle of Cozumel, Cuna Hotel is a unique retreat featuring 26 rooms nestled in the medium forest and 8 elevated rooms floating above the nearby mangrove, right next to the Caribbean. Designed with the timeless inspiration of Mayan palapas, the hotel’s architecture follows a central axis that unfolds various spaces along its path, inviting discovery and connection with the surrounding environment.
The main entrance is marked by two discreet walls that lead to a cloistered reception area. This serves as the gateway to a journey towards the white beach, where the club and restaurant stand. With its long front, the restaurant captures the stunning views of the turquoise sea and the vibrant sunsets, creating a serene space that blends with nature.
Branching from the central axis, the two-story rooms hide a pool and a circular space beneath the earth that opens to the sky, creating an area for meditation. A central bridge lifts visitors toward the stilted rooms, perched like birds above the mangrove.
Cuna Cozumel is a space that fosters a deep connection between the being and the land, between the natural world and the built environment, generating unique atmospheres that resonate with the essence of the site.

Sumergido en la densa jungla de Cozumel, el Hotel Cuna se oculta entre la vegetación, ofreciendo un conjunto de 26 habitaciones que descansan sobre la selva mediana y 8 que flotan sobre el manglar colindante con el Caribe.
El diseño se inspira en los arquetipos de las palapas mayas, creando una serie de espacios que se descubren a lo largo del eje central que organiza la distribución del programa.
El acceso principal se revela a través de dos muros discretos que abren el paso a un prisma enclaustrado que funge como recepción, orientando el recorrido hacia la playa blanca donde se encuentra el club y el restaurante. Con su largo frente, este último captura las vistas del atardecer y el mar turquesa, creando un ambiente relajante que se fusiona con la naturaleza circundante.
Como arterias del eje principal, las habitaciones de dos niveles se ocultan bajo la tierra, donde una alberca y un redondel que se abre hacia el cielo ofrecen un espacio para la meditación. Un puente central nos eleva hacia los palafitos que, como aves, se posan sobre el manglar.
Cuna Cozumel provoca una conexión profunda entre el ser humano y su tierra, entre lo natural y lo construido, dando lugar a nuevas atmósferas que comulgan con el sitio.
